The sport of Little Athletics provides the opportunity for participation amongst a wide range of athletic disciplines in a family friendly environment with a focus on personal achievement. There are many opportunities for children to grow in confidence, enhance athletic ability and skills, develop positive attitudes all whilst maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Peel Districts Little Athletics Centre provides family, fun and fitness in the Peel District region.
Apart from our own inhouse competitions and events which are usually run on a Friday evening or Saturday morning, our athletes are also supported and encouraged to represent the Peel District in further competition such as the Coastal Cup, Zones and State Championships. This not only gives them the opportunity to make new friends and stay active, it allows talented and determined athletes to be guided and prosper at the highest levels.

BETTY CUTHBERT (1938-2017) AM MBE
Betty was our PDLAC’s Patron since 2004. She earned the title of Australia’s “Golden Girl” in1956 at the Melbourne Olympic Games where she won three gold medals for the 100m, 200m and 4 x100m relay. She was the first Australian to win triple gold. Betty retired after those games but made a comeback for the Tokyo games in 1964 and won Gold in the 400m. Cuthbert set nine world records, four of them in 1958. Betty once said.... “You’ve got to stick at a thing, a particular thing, until you succeed. I feel that’s the only way to succeed - by concentrating on something in particular. Once you know what you’ve got to do you will succeed, you will succeed”
